First Piece of 2017 inspired by Domenico Scarlatti

So I took a little break but finally painted my first piece of 2017 which was inspired by listening to some sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti by way of a couple of CD’s gifted to me from my good friend, Bill.

The piece is called: “Scarlatti Discovers A New Key“. To me it signifies discovery and wonderment as I enjoyed listening to the sonatas for the first time. I hope that 2017 will be the same for all.

Let me know what you think…

  1. An atypical work and yet bold and amazing as usual. I love the colors and the unusual details. I’m confident that Scarlatti would approve if he were able to see it today!

  2. I am thoroughly addicted to D. Scarlatti. I listen to the sonatas through the night as I sleep. I’ve heard them hundreds of times and I still hear something new on each audition.

Alex’s’ “Scarlatti” is brilliant and phenomenal… I think that Scarlatti himself would approve!
