{"id":321,"date":"2021-11-01T01:04:52","date_gmt":"2021-11-01T01:04:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/alexretivov.com\/blog\/?p=321"},"modified":"2021-11-06T17:44:11","modified_gmt":"2021-11-06T17:44:11","slug":"is-this-blue-for-real","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/alexretivov.com\/blog\/2021\/11\/01\/is-this-blue-for-real\/","title":{"rendered":"Is This Blue For Real?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">Glad you asked!\u00a0\u00a0In the terrestrial animal kingdom, what you are seeing is one of nature\u2019s most amazing magic tricks that fools the eye into seeing the color blue. Yes, you are technically seeing blue, but the actual color is not a blue pigment but the subtraction of colors to show you only the blue in the color spectrum.\u00a0\u00a0Huh?\u00a0\u00a0With one known exception, nature&#8217;s creatures do not produce blue pigment, so they resort to other methods, or deception, to get you to see the wonderful color that is blue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-justify wp-block-paragraph\">It is pretty amazing that only a very few known animal species in the entire animal kingdom produce a true blue pigment.
